Maybe a Roof Maxx dealer already came out and gave you a number. Maybe a neighbor used something else. Now you’ve got four tabs open, and you’re trying to work out what’s actually different.
Fair warning: we’re not neutral. C&D Roof Restoration is an independent Bright Green Roof dealer in Spring, Texas. So here’s how we handle that. Every product claim below comes from the company or one of its dealers, in their words where we can quote them. We don’t knock anybody. Look each one up, and hold us to the same questions.
What each company says about its own product
Here’s what five treatment makers publish. The years, warranties and prices are their numbers, not ours.
| Product | Life it says it adds | Warranty it publishes | Price it publishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roof Maxx | 5 years per treatment, up to 3 treatments | 5 years, transferable | $3,000 to $6,000 to treat a roof |
| Bright Green Roof | Up to 10 years per application, up to 3 applications | 5 years, transferable, that the shingle stays pliable and flexible | Generally 80% less than a roof replacement |
| Fresh Roof | 6 to 12 or more years, per a Houston-area dealer | 6 years | Ask the dealer |
| GoNano | Ask the dealer | As long as 20 years from a two-coat install | Ask the dealer |
| Roof Rejuvenate USA | Ask the dealer | 5 years | Ask the dealer |
Some details a table can’t hold. Roof Maxx’s site says its treatment will “extend the life of your roof by five years per treatment.” Its cost FAQ puts a treatment at $3,000 to $6,000, next to $20,000 to $30,000 for a new roof. Bright Green Roof calls its product a “100% Active, USDA Certified Biobased Shingle Preservation Treatment.” Its warranty terms are in the Bright Green Roof FAQ. Roof Rejuvenate USA says its corn-based product is 95% USDA Certified Biobased.
One more thing to keep straight. A years-added number is a rating. The warranty is the part a company puts in writing.
Five things worth comparing
Whatever brand you lean toward, these five questions do most of the work.
1. Active product or water
Ask what’s in the sprayer. Bright Green Roof is 100% active, with no water mixed in. NanoRoof, a national brand, describes its product as a “water-based nano-enhanced silicone elastomer.” Those are two different kinds of product. Know which one you’re buying. Then ask how much of what lands on your roof is the active ingredient.
2. Warranty length, and whether it transfers
A warranty is the number a company has to stand behind, so read past the number. What’s covered: flexibility, curling, granule loss? Does it move to the next owner when you sell? What voids it? Who do you call to use it? Bright Green Roof’s covers the treated shingle staying pliable and flexible for five years, and it transfers. Our roof rejuvenation warranty page spells it out in plain English.
3. Price per square foot
Totals are hard to compare, because roofs come in different sizes. Price per square foot fixes that. Divide any quote by the square feet of roof it covers. Ours is $1.00 to $1.50 per square foot of roof, cleaning included, set after the free assessment. Roof Maxx publishes a typical total instead. Quick example: a roof with 3,000 square feet of surface, or 30 squares in roofer talk, would run $3,000 to $4,500 with us. More worked examples are on our roof rejuvenation cost page.
4. Penetrant or coating
A penetrant goes into the shingle. A coating stays on the surface as a layer. Bright Green Roof is a penetrant. It isn’t a coating, paint or sealant. Some products sold around Houston describe themselves as coatings. That’s a different tool for a different job, so ask which one you’re getting. For what’s in ours, and what its USDA label does and doesn’t mean, read why a bio-based treatment.
5. Who answers the phone
Roof Maxx, Bright Green Roof, Fresh Roof and GoNano are all applied by local dealers around Houston. The dealer is the person on your roof. It’s also who you’ll call in year three if a slope looks dry. So ask who the dealer is, where they’re based and for a number a person picks up. With us, that’s Chris in Spring 77386, at (281) 466-7436, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Here’s why Chris chose Bright Green Roof.

The Texas sun question
Some roofers say these treatments wear off fast in hot places. One in the Rio Grande Valley writes, “By 18-24 months in the RGV, that effect is gone.” Our summers are no picnic either. Houston averages about 102 days a year of 90 degrees or more, going by 1991 to 2020 normals at IAH. The UV index sits above 9 from June through August.
We can’t settle that argument on a web page, and we won’t pretend to. Here’s what we’d do in your shoes. Get the warranty in writing, so you know exactly what’s promised and for how long. Then have someone look at the roof every year. That’s what the C&D Annual Roof Checkup is for: a yearly photo visit with a needle and gutter cleanout, plus a storm check when bad weather comes through. If a slope starts drying out early, you’ll see it in the photos.
Where we stand
We apply one product, Bright Green Roof. Chris picked it for reasons you can check. It’s 100% active. It’s USDA Certified Biobased. It comes with a written 5-year transferable warranty on flexibility. And it can go on a roof up to three times. We’d rather say that plainly than dress this page up as neutral.
Every job starts with a free roof inspection and the Straight Answer Promise. If your roof isn’t a candidate for any treatment, ours or anyone’s, Chris tells you so, free, with the photos. If it’s fine, he says it’s fine. Call or text (281) 466-7436 to book.
Common questions
Is Bright Green Roof the same thing as Roof Maxx?
No. They’re two different companies with two different products, and each publishes its own claims. Both offer a five-year transferable warranty. Roof Maxx says each treatment adds five years. Bright Green Roof rates each application for up to ten years and calls its product 100% active. Put the two written warranties side by side before you choose.
Which roof treatment lasts the longest?
Every company rates its own product. The published numbers run from five years per treatment to a warranty as long as 20 years. A rating isn’t a promise. The warranty is. So compare what’s in writing: the years, what’s covered, whether it transfers and who you’d call to use it. Then add a yearly look at the roof so you aren’t guessing.
Does C&D apply Roof Maxx or other brands?
No. We’re an independent Bright Green Roof dealer, and it’s the only treatment we put on a roof. If you already have a quote for another product, keep it handy when Chris comes out. Divide both quotes by the square feet of roof and read both warranties. We’d rather you choose with the facts in front of you.
Is a low price per square foot a red flag?
Not on its own. Price depends on the product, the roof and the dealer. Chris says part of why ours sits at $1.00 to $1.50 per square foot is that Bright Green Roof isn’t mixed with water. A low price deserves a closer look when it comes with no written warranty, no photos of your roof or no way to reach the person who did the work.
