Can roof rejuvenation extend the life of my roof, and by how much?

Your roof is fifteen years old and a roofer just said it has five left. A treatment can change that math, if the shingles are still sound.

Yes, if the roof is still in good shape when we treat it. Bright Green Roof rates the treatment for up to ten years per application, and its written warranty runs five years.

Those are two different numbers. The ten is a rating. It’s the most Bright Green Roof says one treatment can add. The five is on paper. The Bright Green Roof FAQ describes it as a transferable warranty that the treated shingle stays pliable and flexible for five years.

What decides your number

Mostly, the roof you start with. A shingle that’s dry but still flat and gritty has plenty to work with. One that’s cracked, bald or curled tight is past what oil can fix.

So Chris won’t hand you a number of years from the driveway. He gets on the roof, checks it against our candidate checklist and sends you the photos. If it isn’t worth treating, he tells you that for free. That’s the Straight Answer Promise.

Our warranty page spells out what Bright Green Roof’s paperwork covers.

How the dates play out

Say your roof went on in 2014. It’s 12 years old, faded, but flat and still holding its grit. Chris treats it this year.

The written warranty on flexibility runs five years, to 2031. Sell the house in 2029, and because the warranty is transferable, the rest of it can go to your buyer. Ask Chris for the transfer terms in writing before you pay.

Bright Green Roof’s rating for that one treatment is up to ten years. Around then, Chris checks the roof again before anyone talks about a second round.

Earlier is easier

Bright Green Roof says to start at the five-year mark. It also says a roof can be treated up to three times over its life. A five-year-old shingle has lost less than a fifteen-year-old one, so treating it then is upkeep, not a rescue. That’s why we like treating newer roofs before the sun gets ahead of them.

We won’t add three treatments together into one big number, though. Each one starts with a fresh look at the roof. If it’s still sound, we treat it. If it isn’t, you hear that first.

Chris puts it this way: “Take care of your roof today, and it will take care of your home tomorrow.” To find out what yours has left, call or text (281) 466-7436 and ask for a free roof assessment.

The assessment is free. You get photos of your own roof and a straight answer, even if the answer is that it is fine.
